Raksha Malde-Kara purchased vintage pearl necklace imitation over twenty years ago from Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill.

A picture of the necklace was sent to a psychic medium by Take a Break’s Fate & Fortune magazine when she was a journalist in spirituality. The medium provided information about who the necklace had previously belonged to.

Raksha is currently researching the natural history of pearls with jewellery historian, Beatrix Chadour-Sampson at the V&A.
