The history of the pineapple

Pineapples were first introduced to Europe by Christopher Columbus in the late 15th century and seen as exotic, and can now still be seen as a symbol of wealth.

Five interesting facts about the pineapple.

  1. The wallpaper in the Speaker’s study in the Speaker’s House is covered in pineapples.
