Raksha’s high security clearance took around a month to be approved and she was advised it can sometimes can take up to a year for other workers to receive clearance.

It is a concern that female HIV workers may now be influencing the security clearance process to obtain access into prisons. Raksha’s most recent DBS certificate was stolen after being posted out for a volunteer role with a primary school in Flitwick.

It was reported after Raksha Malde-Kara finished working in the prisons in September 2024 that teachers at HMP Woodhill took Class A drugs into the prison via conveyor belt security to do storytelling with HIV women.

The photographs which were illegally taken by HIV female visitors at HMP Woodhill included a young white muslim with a long ponytail, and an older irish traveller with mental and physical health issues.
